I Hope You Drive
Hello! Welcome to the beginning of a summer series I am doing about traveling. You can look forward to a new post dropping at the middle and end of the month in both July and August.
This is something a little different than what I usually post. Every now and then (often when I’m traveling), I’ll get a burst of creativity and something like a poem will pour out of me. This is one that I wanted to share.
I hope you drive.
I hope you get to experience the joy and freedom that awaits you out on the road.
I hope you focus on the road in front of you but still peer out the window from time to time.
I hope you never get so focused on the route you’re taking that you forget to stop, get out, and enjoy the beauty all around you.
I hope you don’t spend too much time looking in the rearview mirror.
I hope you don’t pay too much attention to the speed limit, or the cars that are going faster or slower than you.
Because I hope you remember that we’re all headed somewhere different and the only car to worry about is the one whose steering wheel is in your hands.
I hope that you take the scenic route.
Because I hope you remember that life is about the journey not the destination.
I hope you realize I’m not talking about driving.
Instead, I hope you realize what drives you and you keep chasing it.
I hope you don’t wait for your life to start, and if you have been waiting, I hope you start your life today and tomorrow and every day after.
I hope you wake up each morning with a desire to live life to its fullest.
I hope you don’t let your life pass you by.
I hope you know that life is not meant to be watched nor managed nor waited-on.
Life is meant to be lived.
Thank you for reading, it means a lot to me.

Okay Sam Angelou Hughes!!
This was a good reminder; thanks for sharing it!
